There are neat new features, including the introduction of Face ID, upgrades to the already excellent camera, an new AMOLED screen, bigger battery and upgraded processor.

The phone is available to pre-order and google will throw in a HP Chromebook 14.

One quiet amazing feature is the ability to adjust exposure in separate parts of the photo.

With a second camera lens, Portrait Mode is now even better. Backgrounds fade into an artful blur, giving photos a DSLR‑like quality.

Google PIXEL 4 Quick Gestures uses radar to sense motion, great when when you’re running on the treadmill or enjoying your favourite meal – without touching your phone.
